I am running for City Council because our 40th Council District deserves the very best representation. I will focus on basic services • clean, safe streets • well-maintained affordable housing • quality education • jobs for ourselves, our family and our neighbors.
- I will create a democratic and transparent process to distribute funding to local organization that serve the community. All will be invited to apply. No one will be left out.
- I will fight for everything our children deserve • reduced class size • the billions of dollars that the court ordered be paid to NYC as result of the Campaign for Fiscal Equity lawsuit.
- I will fight for our seniors • to age with dignity • tackling the problems caused by uncaring, unscrupulous landlords and predatory lenders.
- I will negotiate to build affordable housing • cultural centers and recreational centers for our youth • I have identified sites • The community will be involved in development decisions.
- I will confront the soaring rate of unemployment • I will fight so that all taxpayer-subsidized development include job placements as the number one priority in the Community Benefits Agreement.
